As expected, technology has been hit hard by the economy low wave. Intel presented its 4Q review with a tendency that shows a gray view due to the slower PC demand. Such forecast is an early alarm for the tech sector.

FPGA-based ASIC prototyping
Considering price-to-market issues and the posibility of ASIC design bugs, FPGA-based prototyping has become an important reference before designs are taped out. System descriptions can be implemented using abstract models in System-Verilog or System-C which puts the designer(s) in a level higher than initial RTL approaches.

Red River Rivalry!
The upcoming Saturday will bring us one of the most exciting games of the season. The Red River Rivalry is a tradition that started in 1900. After 1917 the game has been hosted by the city of Dallas. The Longhorns, currently ranked as 5th in the national polls, will be facing the #1 ranked Sooners. This will be the 103rd time these two teams meet.
